Ice Storm 2007

Here a few pictures of the storm that hit last night...we still have power but power is out at Bri's office. A huge tree has broken and landed on part of the office doing a little damage (rain gutter/wood edging). The roads are drivable, but we are out of school today. CRAZY!!!

Lehi Snow

Here's some pics from the Drapers snow experience. We had a video of Mase and Ry throwing snowballs at Sadie (safely inside) and she loved it, laughing tons, but it was too choppy when I uploaded it. You'll have to settle for the picture. We had a good snow storm, and am glad it wasn't an ice storm. I have yet to experience one of those.

Snow Day!!!

Or should we say ice!!! We are in the middle of a pretty bad ice storm...I'm just praying the electricity stays on. Sometimes when all of the ice gets on the power lines it's bad news!!

Well anyways no church today so we have plenty of time for blogging. Although it looks like I don't have any good pictures to post. Maybe later I'll take some.

Have a beautiful day.

Tay's b-day...

This first picture is a "thank you" picture for what he got from everyone giving him money or gift cards this year. I'd say he made a haul.

For Taylor's "family" party we karaoke'd...although I don't think he sang more than 2 notes. He was deeply engaged in his new Pokemon game.

Bri took the picture of the cake time, I'm more used to the pictures that are actually of the birthday person, not the mom who can't believe she has a 10 year old and who happens to be singing happy birthday really loud.

Gingerbread House

Karen Julian hosted a gingerbread house decorating class at her house. I'll have to admit it was very theraputic and just as enjoyable. It took me over 7 hours to complete the house. Anyways, it was very fun.

Who's got a BIG red cherry nose?

MUST BE SANTA, SANTA CLAUS!

Some Pics.....

Torsell's are hangin' in there and just gettin' excited for Christmas! Jaxon is off the walls hyper (I know, odd isn't it?) and Huds just hangs out. I had a great birthday with Ryan surprising me with a night at the Hilton. Talk about a great nights sleep! Thanks for all the birthday wishes. They really helped brighten my day!

The Littlest Christmas Tree

We had a good time decorating our tree last nite. We put it in the basement to stay somewhat out of the reach of Sadie. We realized how much easier it is to decorate and put lights on when you are as tall as the tree and can reach all the way around it. :)

Kynastons Weekend

Here are a few pics from the past week. We had a nice Thanksgiving. A couple of families from our ward came to dinner, and then Cole and Ben got here around 8:00. It's nice to have friends out here who also don't have family around. We all kind of stick together. The boys hunted Friday and Saturday. The girls went to Enchanted. Super Cute movie by the way. It snowed Friday night so the kids had fun playing in the snow on Sat. morning. The final picture is the Christmas lights for this year. Bri's a little mad, I put lights on all the windows, the garage and the porch. He said that he thought we were trying to save energy. I think that the 20 energy saving bulbs that we gave him for his birthday is helping in that department:).

South Jordan Thanksgiving

A big thanks for a delicious meal and good company. Maybe next time Heath and I will watch the kids more and not play so much Dr. Mario. :)

Sadie does not like mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving - or any other time for that matter.

P.S. I couldn't find the picture of Bridger's heaping plate of food.

Draper Halloween

Halloween 2007: Kenzie the dork, Mason the basketball player, Rylie as little bunny Fu-Fu, Camrie the dog, and Sadie as a cutie patutie.
Yesterday was Halloween. I'm going to go on record right now saying, "I do not like Halloween." I have never liked Halloween, but have went along with it for the children's sake. Now, I just don't like it. Oh, I'll still participate, but I won't like it. :) As much as I don't like Halloween, Darren likes it even less. We were discussing this last nite and decided we like Groundhog Day much more than Halloween. Even Columbus Day ranked higher. Along with Halloween comes PHS - Post Halloween Syndrome. Our house is definitely suffering from this today. Sadie has a runny nose from being outside in the chill, and the rest of the kids are just grumpy and have chocolate mouths.Camrie, Tyson & Clay Alger, Mason, and Rylie
We tried something new this year - trunk or treat. Our ward has done a trunk or treat for the past couple of years, but we haven't gone. (See, we don't like Halloween.) This year the Algers talked us into going and it was great. We pulled the wagon over and used the back of Algers' truck and got the trick-or-treating over with in 1/2 hour. It was fun to see all our neighbors and not have to open the door. Rylie was a little nervous until about the 5th trunk, which is where Camrie declared, "I have enough candy now." She wanted to still go around with us, but didn't want anymore candy. Despite plenty of people trying to give her candy, she held strong. So she didn't get anymore candy. What was I thinking? That's my candy I gave up. I guess that happens.

After that the Algers came home with us. Rylie answered the door for the trick or treaters, Mason went with Jarrett and Clay to hit more houses, and Darren and Steve went and got Chinese. (All this time Kenzie is at one of her soccer teammate's Halloween party.) After Darren got back he turned off the light and refused to answer the door for anymore people while we ate dinner. After dinner he still refused to answer the door. Can you believe our pumpkins didn't get smashed?

One of these kids has more candy than the others...can anybody guess who it might be with out first looking at the picture?

The kids had fun trick-or-treating. Lexi with stood the cold much longer than the rest of the kids who came home almost 45 minutes earlier:).

We don't have near as many trick-or-treaters around here. Maybe bewteen 40-60? Not a lot, so unfortunately for me we have too much left over candy.
