Mason's Birthday

We had a fun birthday celebration at the Draper's the other night. It consisted of Happy Meals, cupcakes, ice-cream cake, sand box playing, opening presents, flag football, dragon fly flyin' and RockBand. Who could ask for anything more? Here are a few shots from the party.

Chick Flicks

So I saw "Music & Lyrics" and "Just like Heaven" last week and enjoyed them. Then last nite I saw "13 Going on 30" and loved it. (Thanks Jenn.) I can't believe it took me that long to see these movies. So I'm wondering what other chick flicks I'm missing. Leave your list (lengthy if you want) in the comments. Thank you.

The boys & their bikes

B: "Hey Jax, thanks for letting me use your bike"
J: "Umm....yeah, I guess it might be okay for a minute"
J: "Well, as long as you're going to ride it, I might as well give ya a hand"
B: "thanks Jax, I can't figure out these darn pedals. Here, why don't I help you ride My bike?"
J: "Umm...thanks Bridge, but I don't really need a lot of help on this mini one"

Happy Birthday Ryan

Happy Birthday to the greatest man in the world. You are genuine, honest, loving, hard-working, dependable, trustworthy, funny, easy going, and the best dad in the world. It's seems like you are finally catching up to me. BIG 25! I love you more today than yesterday and can't wait to celebrate many, many more birthdays together.

Best Nights Sleep Ever

Well, maybe not. But we're getting there. Thanks so much to Heath and Danen for letting us borrow their toddler bed and crib. Jax, Huds and I are occupying the room down in the basement. It's kinda a tight squeeze but it's amazing to have the kids in their own bed. Last night, Jax told me he wanted to go to bed. We went downstairs, he climbed in the little toddler bed and went to sleep. He slept all night in that little bed which was awesome. Huds is still trying to get used to the crib but is doing a good job. We have been hanging out and tonight we are going to Mason's birthday party. Jaxon is super excited and can't wait for his own birthday. Ryan is loving it out at his parents house. He thinks its amazing to say good night and have it so quite. We'll be heading to Rangely this weekend to celebrate Ryan's birthday. It should be pretty fun.

4th of July

We had a wonderful 4th of July in Rangely this year. The weekend consisted of camping, hiking, boating, birthday celebrating and just plain hangin' out. We camped at "the lake" Friday night and watched the firework celebration from our tent. Jaxon was amazed and fairly prep'd for the fireworks considering he kept letting us know "the fireworks are going to go booooommm" every couple of minutes through out the day. Hudson hung out and had a blast camping. He loves getting dirty and eating everything. We hung out with Rambo and I can't believe I am saying this, but I actually like him. He is a really good dog and really cute. We drove home from Rangely on Monday with a stop in Roosevelt so I could pick out all the colors of our new house. It was kinda fun but kinda hard too. Then the weekend ended with a pit-stop at Grandma's to get our dose of normality. The week has been kinda rough already. Huds went to the doctor this morning with what I thought was an ear infection but only has that crappy hand, foot, mouth disease but only on his feet this time. Poor little guy has cried and had a fever for 3 days now. We also got news today that we are closing on our house in Syracuse on July 18th. A little sooner than expected but oh well. I am thankful this chapter of our life is about to close. Let the good times roll.
P.S. Jax and Bridge are showing me how big they are in the picture of them. If you look close Jax is on his tip toes and is still shorter than Bridge. We knew the day would come when Bridge would be taller than Jax. Too bad it came so soon! :)

Laynee is 3 months old already!

I cant believe she is 3 months old already!
This is a dress that I remember Kelcie wearing. I thought it was really cute - Ben though it looked like a tablecloth. Laynee really liked it because she could bury her face in it.

We got an exersaucer last week and she loves to sit and look at the toys. She is still a little small so we stuff some blankets around her so she doesn't fall over.

Laynee had her first fever last week and for the most part she was a trooper. She also found her feet. Now she just lifts them up and smiles and stares at them. I thought it was cute.

Movie Review

So I borrowed this movie (right) from my neighbor the other nite and really enjoyed it. It was made in 2006, but I don't remember seeing anything about it. I thought of Heather and Emily after watching it, but anyone who likes chick flicks will like it. Let me know if you've seen it.

In another movie review, definitely go see "Kung Fu Panda" We all loved it. Even Sadie lasted through the movie. Happy Birthday to me.

Draper family vacation....

Hello everyone! I just want you all to know how excited I am that in ONE month we will be havin' an amazing time at the School house Inn at Lava Hot springs!!! YEAH!! I know, I know, a month is still awhile away, but I thought I'd post my ideas for meals in case you only go shopping once a month. So...we'll check in late afternoon on Wednesday and leave early afternoon on Saturday. So, this is what I'm thinking so far. If you have a problem with the meal you're assigned or you just had a better idea for a different meal, simply call the person in charge of the meal you want and SWITCH! Thanks guys! I will be in charge of all lunches and I'll also bring all the milk, bread, lunch stuff like chips and condiments (mayo, mustard, etc) needed for everyone. I think Becca did a great job last year and it was so nice that everyone didn't need to bring their own gallon of milk. Any questions....post a comment or give me a call!! I'm not planning on a lunch for Saturday, but I figure we will have plenty of leftovers or you can stop for lunch on your way home.

Wednesday:
Dinner: Bec & Ryan

Thursday:
Breakfast: Josh & Brooke
Lunch: Heather & Danen
Dinner: D & Ang

Friday:
Breakfast: Nic & Ben
Lunch: Heather & Danen
Dinner: Em & Brian

Saturday:
Breakfast: Mom & Dad

Movie Review

I took M, R, C, and S to the dollar movie the other day. We saw "Horton Hears a Who". I give it 4 out of 5 stars, and recommend it as a rental. It was a little slow, but the animation was great. Enjoy.

I've also been watching non-Darren movies while he's been gone. This week I saw "Music and Lyrics" (thanks Jenn) and "Juno". Loved "Music and Lyrics" but wasn't so fond of "Juno", but I did cry during the movie if that means anything. I'll keep you posted on the movies I see in the next 2 weeks. I'll be visiting Draper Rentals. There's a location in Saratoga Springs and in South Jordan.

Birthday Money

Thanks everyone, for the birthday money. I just wanted to post and let Bec know the $ arrived safely. Thanks for remembering. With a birthday just after a holiday and on a Monday, you're amazing at timely birthday wishes. I bought some Nike T-shirts with about $30 and hopefully Sandee will take me to IKEA to spend the other half (and more). Happy birthday to me.

Laynee's Hair

When I dropped Laynee off at daycare they asked if they could do her hair. They really like her hair because most infants in their area don't have any. This was what her hair looked like when I got home from work. It was pretty cute! She didn't really like it when I took it out though.

Powell Gardens

Last weekend we took a trip with some friends to Powell Gardens. It was really pretty but I think if you grew up with mountains so close it wasn't as cool. We had fun and Laynee was a trooper in the heat.

The Bateman/Staples campout

We went camping with our neighbors, Amber and Ryan Staples, this last week and it was a blast! Bridger and Loren were super cute and got along most of the time. They loved that they got to play ALL day together!!
This is how they kept themselves entertained while I was making the other bed. They were pretty sad once the beds were off limits.
This is Bridger wondering when we were ever going to stop hiking. he he he
He was fine as soon as Danen let him wear his cool hat
We were SO close to hiking RIGHT in front of this Moose! It was so close! We kept telling Bridger to be quiet because we didn't want to scare the moose, but he just kept yelling "See it!"
Here are the kids playing in the water at Silver Lake. Overall, the entire trip was a success. We loved it and can't wait to go to Lava where we can Play all day again!!!
